Beaufort County Micro School is a state approved private school in Washington, North Carolina, serving students in 6th through 12th grades with a model that blends online learning with face to face instruction. Founded by Kimberly Waltower, it was the first micro school of its kind in Eastern North Carolina, and its opening was celebrated with a ribbon cutting hosted by the Beaufort County Chamber of Commerce. As a micro school, it gives middle and high school students a smaller and more personal place to learn.
DRMR Creative designed the Beaufort County Micro School logo and website, giving a brand new school an identity families can recognize and a digital home they can trust. For a school that was the first of its kind in the region, the website had a particularly important job, which was to explain a different way of learning to parents and students who may be hearing about the micro school model for the first time. The design was built around clarity, so visitors can understand who the school serves, how it works, and how to learn more. The logo and website work together to present the school as credible, welcoming, and ready for the community it serves.

New ideas in education need a strong first impression, because families are trusting a school with their children's future. Beaufort County Micro School shows how a clear identity and a thoughtful website can help a new kind of school feel familiar and credible from day one. That is the purpose behind everything DRMR builds, which is giving visionary organizations the brand and digital presence they need to be understood by the people they were created to serve.
